Studio Guidelines (ENG)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
At Electronic Dance TV, our goal is to produce high-quality content in both sound and image. These should be attractive both qualitatively and content-wise for future sponsors and our target audience.
To steadily expand our reach in the future, we plan to place Electronic Dance TV not only on the usual social media platforms but also on linear cable TV, subscriber TV, and smart TV apps.
To be listed on these channels, we need high-quality premium content, the criteria of which we must implement in every single studio set.
Our technical standards include, among others:
- Full HD 1080p videos, with the goal of offering 4K as an option in the future
- A high standard of sound quality up to 320 kbps
- Live editing of various cameras from different perspectives
- For studio productions: Video mapping with trendy animated backgrounds via an installed monitor system in the studio
- Display of the currently played tracks as Live-ID – content presented in word and image: [COVER] | ARTIST – Track/Title (Version/Mix)
IMPORTANT!
Display of the currently played tracks as Live-ID – analyzed by Pioneer Rekordbox.
This topic should be carefully prepared by every DJ.
This requirement is one of the most important basics for the production of any premium DJ set in our studio. Incorrect or insufficient display of the required track information excludes the production from any further processing and publication.
Preparation for this is very easy to handle and not rocket science.
We have prepared a tutorial for this and of course provide any support should further questions arise. Artistic performances with systems other than Pioneer-DJ CDJ players must be coordinated with the production management (even before scheduling).
We are always striving to make the production as pleasant as possible for artists and producers.
Fun and a feel-good factor should not be neglected either, after all, we want to create authentic content! 🙂 However, there are important guidelines for the process of a production in our studio to ensure professional execution.
Arrival at the studio for live broadcasts
Is it your first time here? Then please arrive at least 45 minutes before the start. Otherwise, 30 minutes are usually sufficient unless equipment needs to be set up or a sound check needs to be conducted. In this case, the schedule will always be arranged in consultation.
Artistic performance in front of the camera
Every artist is free and unbound in their performance in front of the camera but must follow the instructions of the studio staff within the framework of the technical process and general safety and order. Artists and all other participants who appear impaired by alcohol or drugs in front of the camera or are no longer capable will be excluded from further participation before or during production. Already produced content will not be provided or published. Already placed videos from live streams will also be removed.
Consumption of alcohol in front of the camera should always be handled sensitively.
In general: Products of any kind may not be presented or subtly placed in their original containers in front of the camera. This mainly concerns beverages. These must be made unrecognizable in terms of the brand or transferred to neutral containers. Beer bottles must be made unrecognizable with one of our neutral neoprene bottle sleeves. This measure immediately resolves the issue of alcohol consumption and brand branding in front of the camera.
Any brand branding on clothing
Especially visible positions such as outerwear, caps, wristbands, and chains are not allowed. Exceptions are logos for the artist’s pseudonym, record label, or sports and fashion brands on shoes or pants that are not visible in the picture. Artists with their own sponsorship or advertising contract must already inform about this during planning to avoid potential conflicts with other advertising partners.
No political statements in front of the running camera
All political statements, proclamations, and opinions – with any racist background – in words, images, and gestures in front of the running camera are strictly prohibited. This also applies to printed clothing or other symbolic items.
Process in the studio during live DJ sets
Although most DJ sets are produced for continuous episodes during a live stream, each set must be recorded separately.
What does that mean?
Unlike in real club life, no “flying change” is necessary among the DJs in a live stream. Each set starts with a 60-second countdown and ends with the DJ – with a short farewell to the front camera – leaving the picture. Only then does the following DJ enter the picture to initiate his setup and start after his 60-second countdown. The change always takes place under the direction’s instructions.
Why all this?
The goal is for the sets to later be provided “On Demand” in the media library as individual sets in a characteristically neutral manner.
Cancellations or absences due to illness
Cancellations should be made at the earliest possible time, but no later than 24 hours before the appointment, to allow enough time to fill the slot otherwise. In case of cold symptoms or other contagious infections, early cancellation should be made in the spirit of self-responsibility to avoid possible infection of the present participants.
Accreditation / access to the studio
Participants and artists must be accredited for visiting the studio. This is done through prior registration with the production management. Each artist can bring one accompanying person to the production, provided they act as a manager, tour companion, driver, or family member.
During the opening hours of the Halo Club (or Mash-Up Bar), artists and their companions need a pass issued in advance by the production management. Only with this can the security-protected entrance area be passed. Therefore, all personal data for accreditation must be available at least 24 hours before the start of production. A visit without prior registration is not possible, also for security reasons.
Stay in the entire studio area
During the stay, the instructions of the studio staff must be followed.
Smoking is prohibited in the entire studio area. Exceptions only apply in the backstage area, with the approval of the studio staff, and in coordination with all non-smoking present.
The consumption of illegal drugs and narcotics is prohibited in the entire studio area.
During production, outside the backstage area, special care must be taken regarding noise and movement – doors should be closed quietly! Guests or accompanying persons may only stay in the production area during recording or broadcast after consultation with the studio management.
The facilities must be treated with care. Anyone who intentionally or negligently causes damage to the studio facilities is fundamentally acting at their own risk and is liable accordingly.
Consumption of food and drinks
The consumption of food and drinks is only allowed in the designated backstage area. Exceptions apply to artists and participants in the studio area, but only with the approval of the studio management. The consumption of food and open drinks in the area of technical equipment is entirely prohibited.
Bringing food and drinks
Bringing food and drinks is generally allowed. A beverage refrigerator is available in the backstage area for cooling drinks, while a chilled minibar is available during the performance in the studio.
For other drinks from the studio stock, a cost contribution is required – the prices are moderate and can be found on the notice.
